FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Arkansas starting pitching has struggled to make it out of the early innings in SEC play but it looked like that was going to change Thursday night.

Then the fourth inning hit. And so did the Florida bats.

Dominic Taccolini cruised through the first three innings but loaded the bases in the fourth before being pulled. The Gators quickly scored six runs in the frame as they blew open a scoreless game and posted a 12-8 win at Baum Stadium.

Arkansas mounted a furious rally late in the game but their six runs over the final three innings weren’t enough to overcome Florida’s big night.

Arkansas (21-13, 4-9 SEC) lost their fourth straight conference game while the No. 3 ranked Gators (31-5, 9-4) continue to show why they were the preseason favorite.

Florida sent 10 batters to the plate in the fourth inning as Taccolini was charged with three runs while reliever Josh Alberius was touched up for three more before getting out of the frame. Alberius had been dominant out of the Arkansas bullpen as he entered the game with a 0.90 ERA in 20 innings of work, allowing just two earned runs.
