FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Jared Cornelius overcame a fractured forearm midway through the 2015 season to make a major impact on the Arkansas offense and heading into the new season, the junior receiver is picking up an honor.
Cornelius was one of 43 college athletes named to the Paul Hornung Award watch list. The award goes to athletes who contribute at multiple positions and special teams.
The Shreveport, La. native has 42 catches for 605 yards and five touchdowns in his two seasons at Arkansas while adding 184 yards in punt returns. Cornelius turned a screen into a 58-yard touchdown against UTEP in the 2015 season opener then he had a 69-yard rushing touchdown against LSU. Cornelius capped his season with a career long 35-yard punt return and a rushing touchdown in the Liberty Bowl against Kansas State.
