Catch part three of their conversation where the Arkansas coach talks the value that has been Brandon Allen here.

BS: You have to look for the future all the time. How valuable is it to have a quarterback like Brandon (Allen) in that meeting room with three young guys, Rafe (Peavey), Austin (Allen) and Ty (Storey)?

BB: Well one of them is his brother so he can rule him around pretty good. BA has been through a lot. I think he can put it in a way with his personality, his demeanor, his way of expressing things that let’s those young players learn a lot through his own failures and I think he’s very humble about that. Any time you have a leader in the room with his qualities, he’s a good Christian kid that has been raised the right way, I think that is going to be a pure bonus.

BS: Having some many talented kids with Rafe being well decorated out of high school, Ty pretty much everything in Arkansas has been about him the last couple years, that competition in the meeting room has to do nothing but make them better.

BB: It is. Ty literally can see get better every day. He’s such a pleasing kid. He wants everything to be perfect but unfortunately when you’re a freshman, it doesn’t work that way all the time. He’s a local product so the pressure is on him and I know he feels that. I try to get him to stay loose a little bit. I definitely want him to keep pushing himself forward but he’s his own worst critic but he’s a great, great team member. We had seven freshmen come in at the semester and I think he’s had every one of them home with him already to experience a little Charleston love and just to see the kids grow in that manner is very entertaining.

BS: Sure, all the attention goes to quarterbacks and rightfully so but their job is a lot easier when (Jonathan Williams) and (Alex Collins) are behind them.

BB: That’s very true. I think all of our quarterbacks understand the better our run game is, it’s easier to read defenses because people have to tilt their coverages. They have to cheat down with and eighth or ninth man. Whatever they’re going to do, it allows your quarterbacks to have a little bit better understanding before the play ever happens or what might happen after the snap.
