Malta National Team center signs with Hogs women's basketball

Danika Galea signs with Arkansas women's basketball

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas women's basketball has signed Danika Galea, a 6-foot 3-inch center for the Malta national team, the university announced on Monday.

Galea won MVP and the gold medal for Malta at last summer's FIBA U18 Division C, the first time her country has won since 2007.

The U of A said in the announcement on Monday that Galea averaged 29 points and 19 rebounds per game during the tournament, and average 65% shooting from the field.

This summer, Galea will play with the Malta Senior National Team for the third time.

The center is the fifth international player on the 2024-25 roster, according to the U of A.

Galea heads to Arkansas with four years of eligibility as the seventh signee ahead of the season, and the fifth this offseason.
