Arkansas job openings per unemployed worker dips

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Arkansas was among the states with the largest decline in job openings in July, both in terms of numbers and rates.

ARKANSAS, USA — Arkansas was among the states with the largest decline in job openings for July, both in terms of numbers and rates, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and as noted by Michael Pakko on his arkansaseconomist.com blog.

“As a result, the number of job openings per unemployed worker fell
below 2.0 for the first time this year,” said Pakko, the chief economist with the Arkansas Economic Development Institute.

Pakko said that the report, the Job Openings & Labor Turnover Survey, “suggested some leading indicators of slightly weakening conditions.”
