WEST FORK (KFSM) – The West Fork Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Monday afternoon (Jan. 19) northeast of town, officials say.
A resident was burning leaves in their yard when the wind picked up and things got out of control, according to fire personnel.
Officials said the fire did get close to the home of the resident burning leaves, but firefighters were able to get the fire under control and protect the home.
The fire was under control before 1:40 p.m., fire personnel said.
