SILOAM SPRINGS (KFSM) - Kayakers embracing the warm weather headed to Siloam Springs on Monday (Mar. 16) to enjoy the white water sport.

The Siloam Springs Kayak Park includes about 600 feet of engineered water and accepts kayaks, canoes and tubes.

"I love the challange and love the fast water," said Ryan Brazell, a kayaker. "It's just a great workout all day long."

Troy Kirkendall, Siloam Springs Parks and Recreation Manager, said he encourages people to wear a life jacket, helmet and closed-toe shoes. He also said it's important for people to be aware of their surroundings.

"Keep an eye out for children and those that are in your group and make sure that you have good constant contact with them," he said.

The Siloam Springs Kayak Park is free to all users. It's open all year long one hour before sunrise until one hour after sunset.
