Thousands Show Support for the Hogs at RazorFest

Thousands of Arkansas football fans made their way out to RazorFest Saturday before the annual Red-White Spring game.

Razorback fans made their way out to the Abbott Nutrition RazorFest today. This year's event is sponsored by Champions for Kids. Founder, Adelaide Schaeffer, says this event is unlike any other.

"There are 'Red-White' games, throughout the country," says Schaeffer."The University of Arkansas is the only school in the country to step up and say 'let's leverage our influence to make a difference for the lives of children.'"

Thousands of families showed up today to not only show their support for the football team but also to help spread awareness of the necessity to improve the lives of children.

"We believe that by the end of the day over 70,000 people will have come through this event," says Schaeffer. "Our history is 60,000 people but we believe that today, for many reasons, we will see 70,000 people; it is the only event in the country like this."

RazorFest featured a walk for kids, a fun zone, games, music, mascots, giveaways, and autographs. Director of Athletics, Jeff Long, and the Razorback football team were among those signing autographs at the event.

This year's event attracted fans of all ages and even some first timers. This is David and Madison Patrick's first year to attend but they say they hope to make it a tradition.

"I feel like we have been missing out," says David. "It was great, we had a lot of fun and it probably something that we will do from now on. It was great daddy daughter time. A good time for us to just get together and do something fun."

While this may be the first year for the Patricks to attend the RazorFest, they have already perfected the "hog call."

During halftime, the football program presented senior and team awards from the previous season.
