SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — Police said a Springdale man was arrested Wednesday night (March 23) after he allegedly raped a young girl in 2014.
Markus Trantham, 26, is facing a class D felony charge of rape, according to a Springdale Police Department press release.
The Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division received a report in February accusing Trantham of raping a now 7-year-old girl. The alleged incident occurred in 2014.
According to a preliminary report,Trantham told police during an interveiw that he put his thumb inside the girl, but said it happened on accident.
Trantham was taken to the Washington County Jail.
