A Springdale man faces three felony charges after his ex-girlfriend told police he choked her and then forced her to have sex with him.

Alexander Arceo, 29, was booked in the Washington County Detention Center on Sunday morning and is being held currently without bond, according to the Sheriff’s Department website. Arceo faces felony charges of aggravated assault, rape and false imprisonment and a misdemeanor charge of third-degree domestic battery.

Arceo is also listed as being in violation of parole and a preliminary police report said he has a criminal history of possession of controlled substances and weapons violations.

The report said Springdale officers responded to a call on the 800 block of Tamarack Street at approximately 3:45 a.m. Sunday morning. A 19-year-old woman said her ex-boyfriend, identified as Arceo, had become violent after accusing her of being unfaithful, the report said.

The woman said Arceo choked her, struck her in the face and pushed her into a window before forcing her to have sex with him, the report said. She called out for help before calling police on her cell phone, which she hid in her bra so Arceo could not get it, the report said.

In the report, officers said the woman had marks on her necks that were consistent with strangulation, and she had bruises on her arms and knees as well as scrapes and cuts.
