POTEAU (KFSM) - A team with The American Red Cross is set up in Poteau Tuesday morning (May 26th) to help people who were displaced in Monday night's storms.

Dispatchers with the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office said the Red Cross is at Bob Lee Kidd Community Center on 100 Pirate Lane providing shelter, food and other necessary items for people following the storms.

The Red Cross said they will be there until at least 11 a.m. Wednesday (May 27). The health department will be administering free tetanus shots at the Community Center from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Several roads across LeFlore County remain closed Tuesday morning, including Old Highway 112 in Poteau and Highway 270, just south of Highway 271, dispatchers said.

Several other streets are also closed, and being monitored closely by deputies at this time.

Homes and businesses in the LeFlore County area saw extensive damage during the storms, but dispatchers said no injuries were reported as the storms moved through.
