ROGERS, Ark. (KFSM) — Police responded to a shooting that occurred outside of the Freddy’s on Walnut St. in Rogers.

According to Keith Foster with the Rogers Police Department, witnesses said two males got into an altercation in the parking lot and during the altercation one of them was shot in the leg.

Foster says one of the males left the scene and the other drove himself to Mercy Hospital for treatment.

Alva Krewson and her daughter were eating on the patio when they heard the gunfire.

"We were just having dinner on the patio and we see a guy walking through the parking lot with a gun and I thought that’s not a real gun...and they start hollering at each other then we see them start fighting and the guys next to us he said yeah that’s a real gun and we just started running," Krewson said.

Krewson and her daughter say they ran as fast as they could.

"Then when we were running over towards Barnes and Nobel we heard gun shots. Or a gunshot," Krewson said. "We heard one gunshot and we just kept running until we got into Barnes and noble."

Foster says this is an active investigation and information is subject to change, but at this time police think this was an isolated incident and the public is not in danger.
