FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- Fayetteville police have forwarded their investigation of a Fayetteville School District employee to the city prosecutor's office.

Dr. Mark Oesterle, the executive director of secondary education for the district, has been on administrative leave since January.

Sgt. Anthony Murphy, a spokesman for Fayetteville police, confirmed Monday (Feb. 11) the case is with City Prosecutor Brian Thomas.

Police and school officials haven't divulged any details about the investigation.

Thomas didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. Alan Wilbourn, a district spokesman, declined to comment, citing a personnel matter.

Oesterle has been with the Fayetteville School District since August of 2016.

Before joining Fayetteville schools, Oesterle served as an administrator for the Don Tyson School of Innovation in the Springdale School District from 2014-2016.
