BENTONVILLE (KFSM)- Northwest Arkansas Community College determined a police officer who made a Facebook post regarding the shooting spree at a Charleston, South Carolina church did not violate school policy, according to the Executive Director of Public Relations and Marketing for the college.

Steven Hinds said the school’s Ethics Committee completed its review June 25 and determined officer Randy Hillyard did not violate any college policies and is therefore still employed by NWACC.

Following the shooting of nine people at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina Wednesday (June 18), Officer Hillyard made the following post on Facebook:

“no way this wasn’t a set up…way to convenient..a white kid walks into a historically significant black church and kills several people with a evil gun..one of those people happens to be a black state senator. This has gun grab and much else written all over it. And tell me how they released the suspects precise age before they knew who the suspect was.”

According to NWACC, the comments posted by Hillyard do not reflect the views of the school.
