There are always plenty of opportunities to hear live music, but it's not every day you can watch a live dance performance - especially a production with local people taking center stage. However, that's exactly what's happening this weekend in Northwest Arkansas.

Mark and Aura King have been dancing together for eight years. In fact, their relationship started on the dance floor.

“We met in a local club here, started dancing together, fell in love and got married. We finally opened this place two years ago,” Mark said referencing the Dance King Productions Studios in Bentonville.

Mark and Aura not only perform together. The also teach others how to dance. Then, they let the students show off their skills at the end of each week.

“Every Friday night, we have a live dance party. We also have a group class every Friday, right before the party,” Mark said.

But, this weekend is a little different, with the party happening on Saturday.

“It's a dinner dance show,” Mark said. “We have a salsa dance, a tango, a cha-cha.”

The event will include performances by students, dance instructors and professionals.

“It's all local talent. I mean these are everyday people,” Mark said. “We have a lady that owns a local magazine dancing. We have a single mother. We have a professor from the university. These are people you'd see walking down that street that love and enjoy the art of ballroom and Latin dancing. They love it enough that they'd like to share it through performing.”

The event will be held at the Dance King Studio Saturday evening, with dinner at 6:30 followed by the show at 7:30. 5NEWS Morning Anchor Jay Plyburn will be emceeing the event. For more information, click here.
