More than 2,000 Washington County households lost power Tuesday afternoon. It was restored by Ozarks Electric crews about one hour later, according to the electric company.

Ozarks Electric records show 2,224 customers went offline at 2:38 p.m. Electric company employees worked to restore power to the Johnson substation that had experienced an overload on the power fuses of a temporary mobile substation in the area, according to Ozarks Electric.

“The substation was undergoing major upgrades to improve system reliability and capacity,” according to a statement released after the outage by Ozarks Electric.

Willow Creek Women’s Hospital experienced a “six-second blink” before an emergency generator took over the power. The hospital’s normal power was restored at 3:35 p.m., with all other services being restored by 4 p.m., according to Ozarks Electric.
