ROGERS (KFSM) — A local hospital is looking to put an end to hunger where you live with their Stuff The Bus food drive.
The food drive will be from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (March 16) and Thursday (March 17). The bus is parked just outside of Mercy hospital.
The drive is part of Mercy hospital’s outreach program, with the goal of reaching people outside the medical facility.
Every year, one of their projects is collect food for one of the local food pantries. This year, they’ve adopted Saint Vincent Du Paul pantry in Rogers.
This is the first time Mercy is inviting the public to participate, which is a tradition they are hoping to continue in the future.
“We consider ourselves to be very lucky here in Benton County,” said Kyle Brunen, who works for Mercy’s Health and Wellness community outreach. “A lot of people have what they need, and it’s not really well known that a lot of people do struggle and still do need help — and that’s who we’re trying to reach.”
