Police arrested a Springdale man they say stole syringes and more than 200 narcotics pills from his workplace at a local packaging company.
Guy Dustin Hendrix, 33, was arrested Friday night on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released Saturday from the Washington County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.
A security officer with the packaging company called police last week about some suspected thefts at the company. The security officer suggested police talk to Hendrix.
During an interview with police, Hendrix admitted to stealing five to 12 packages from the company that were filled with Oxycodone, Morphine and Fentanyl patches, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police recovered 20 syringes, five spoons and a semi-automatic pistol from Hendrix’s person and residence, the report states. Police also found 244 Morphine and Oxycodone pills, three grams of marijuana, an IV tube and a foil pipe, according to detectives with the Springdale Police Department.
Police said they would not release the name of the packaging company.
