LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — Glen Rose High School announced Tuesday that "several" football players are "ineligible" for the game Friday against Two Rivers High School.
The apparent suspensions come after a brawl last week during a game against Fouke High School. Video of the melee shows players shoving each other and throwing punches. The footage shows several fans running onto the field. One of them runs toward a Glen Rose player and tackles him from behind.
The school said in a written statement that homecoming activities will proceed as planned Friday.
It declined to comment further.
No players from Fouke High School will see the field Friday, according to the Arkansas Activities Association. The state's sanctioning body for high school sports has announced that Fouke will forfeit its game against Prescott.
