NORTHWEST ARKANSAS (KFSM) — Happening Friday (April 15), one massive volunteer initiative will revitalize several local communities.

Over 700 volunteers will be coming together to help over 35 nonprofit agencies through volunteer projects. United Way NWA has partnered with these nonprofits to put on the largest volunteer event in Northwest Arkansas.

2016’s Live United Day volunteer projects include outdoor maintenance, organization and beautification, planting flowers, working on gardens, inside “spring cleaning” as well as painting. There are projects in Bentonville, Fayetteville, Huntsville, Rogers, Siloam Springs and Springdale.

This is a great project for the nonprofits in our community, because it helps them accomplish things they may not have the time or staff for otherwise.

“This time of the year is my favorite time of the year because United Way always sends us a great group of people from various organizations to help us with our major spring cleaning on Live United Day,” said Inger Nelson, Executive Director of Compassion House.

Organizers said more than 46 projects will be completed today across Northwest Arkansas.
