NEWTON COUNTY (HARRISON DAILY TIMES) – Human remains were found in Newton County on Saturday (July 18) near Lurton, the Harrison Daily Times reported.
Deputies said that the Arkansas State Crime Lab is working to identify the remains which were found on land adjoining property owned by Dennis Zent, 57, who was reported missing in December 2014, according to the Harrison Daily Times.
“Until we have confirmation from the Arkansas State Crime lab of the identity we are not releasing the name of the person we believe the remains to be,” said Newton County Sheriff Keith Slape.
The sheriff told the Harrison Daily Times some of the remains found on Saturday included a replaced hip joint that contained a serial number, and Zent did have a hip replacement surgery.
