JOHNSON COUNTY (KFSM) – A Hartman sex offender was arrested by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of a weapons charge and Arkansas Game and Fish violations, according to a news release.
Jerry Bohannon, 55, is a level-two registered sex offender who was convicted of first-degree violation of a minor, according to the Arkansas Crime Information Center.
On Nov. 21, deputies visited his home on Private Road 3151 and discovered one antlered deer head and one full carcass of an antlered dear hanging in his shed behind the home, the release states.
They executed a search warrant and found a 30-06 hunting rifle in an unsecured gun cabinet in Bohannon’s room, according to the release. He also had .12 gauge ammo and a 30-30 lever action hunting rifle in his vehicle, deputies said.
He was cited multiple times by an Arkansas Game and Fish officer on suspicion of suspended game violations and taken into custody by deputies, according to the release.
Bohannon faces a charge of possession of a firearm by certain persons and has a bond hearing scheduled for Monday (Nov. 24), deputies said.
