FORT SMITH (KFSM) — The Fort Smith Police Department identified two persons of interest Tuesday (Jan. 26) in connection to a home invasion robbery that ended in the death of Kaleb Watson, 22.

Police are looking for Shakur Shanden Sharp, 16, and James Lariel Sharp, 15, according to a release from the department.

James Sharp is also considered a runaway and was reported missing by his mother Jan. 22, the release states.

Watson was shot Saturday (Jan. 23) at a town home on Windsor Drive and later died of his injuries, police said.

According to witness reports two suspects, both black males wearing all black clothing and ski masks, came into the town home and attempted to rob the victim and a female friend at gunpoint, according to police. An altercation ensued between Watson and an armed suspect ending in multiple gun shots, police said.

The suspects fled in an unknown direction in an unknown vehicle, according to police.

Law enforcement doesn’t usually release juvenile information to the public, but it’s being shared in this case because of the seriousness of the crime and safety of the public.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Shakur Sharp and James Sharp is encouraged to call the Fort Smith Police Department at (479) 709-5100.

The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith will hold a memorial service for Watson at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27 at the Bell Tower.
