LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The federal trial of a former Arkansas state senator who is the nephew of the governor and son of a former U.S. senator is being postponed.
Court records show a federal magistrate in Missouri on Thursday rescheduled the trial of former Arkansas state Sen. Jeremy Hutchinson and former Springfield, Missouri, health care company executives Tom Goss and Bontiea Goss from June 10 to April 5, 2021.
Hutchinson is the nephew of Gov. Asa Hutchinson and his father is former U.S. Sen. Tim Hutchinson.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that both prosecutors and defense attorneys requested the delay.
The three were indicted earlier this year on charges of fraud and bribery for allegedly taking part in a multi-million-dollar corruption scheme that involved elected officials in Arkansas and Missouri and Springfield-based Preferred Family Healthcare.
All three have pleaded not guilty.
