FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- Fayetteville police say they are searching for several suspects who have been dressing as hospital personnel and stealing from hospital employees.

Police said they have taken reports of theft and fraudulent use of credit cards from local hospitals, according to a department post on Facebook. The thieves dress in scrubs and go into employee-only areas where staff members keep their personal belongings.

Corporal Dallas Brashears with the Fayetteville Police Department said the only victims that they know of are employees of the Washington Regional Medical Center.

He said they believe the suspects dressed in scrubs to camouflage themselves while walking through the hospital.

Police said after the suspects left the hospital, they used the stolen items to make fraudulent charges.

Brashears said they are taking this case very seriously because it could mean more to the victims than just losing their credit cards.

“Like any property crime, it’s pretty deplorable when you’re taking advantage of someone else," said Brashears. "You’re taking their property, you’re taking their money, you’re taking their time and you’re possibly risking their personal identities as well.”

He advised others to make sure their doors are locked to prevent this from happening especially if the public has access to the area where personal belongings are kept.

The suspects pictured below were last seen driving a red Dodge Journey with Arkansas license plate 183 VBU, the post states.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call police at 587-7100.
