FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – A Fayetteville man has been charged with sex trafficking of a child and promoting prostitution via the Internet, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas Conner Eldridge.

Doncouri Wells, 38, of Fayetteville appeared on Friday (Sept. 5) before U.S. Magistrate Judge Erin Setser for arraignment on the charges of sex trafficking of children and promoting prostitution via the Internet, the release states.

The statutory penalty for sex trafficking can range from a minimum of 10 years in prison to a maximum sentence of life in prison and a possible fine of not more than $250,000, the release states.

The case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fayetteville Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dustin Roberts is prosecuting the case, the release states.
