Police are looking for a connection in a pair of armed Fayetteville home invasions that occurred within the span of one week.

The crimes appear to be drug-related, and Sgt. Craig Stout with Fayetteville police said residents have nothing to worry about if they do not use or sell drugs. No arrests have been made.

Police responded to a call Tuesday night of an armed robbery at a home at 1798 N. Chestnut Ave. shortly after 10:30 p.m. The caller told police two black men covering their faces with black bandanas knocked on the home’s door, then forced their way inside.

One of the suspects was armed with a black pistol, and the residents were forced at gunpoint to lie on the kitchen floor, police said. The suspects took money, phones and drugs from the home before fleeing out the back door, according to police records.

Both suspects were about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, police said.

An apartment just a few blocks away, at 775 W. Sycamore St., was the scene of a similar armed robbery Dec. 5.

Four black men armed with pistols pushed their way into the home at Sycamore Place Apartments at about 8:30 p.m., a caller told police.

The suspects made the residents get into the bathroom during the home invasion. The alleged robbers made off with money and cell phones from the residents before police were called, according to police.

Witnesses believe at least two of the suspects are taller than 6-foot-2, while one was about 5-foot-7, police records show.

One of the suspects wore a red hooded sweatshirt with a puffy jacket and saggy blue jeans. He had a scruffy face and wore a do-rag, police said.

Another suspect reportedly had a goatee and wore black jeans.
