POTEAU, Okla. (KFSM) — Poteau police confirm one person is dead due to an accident at the north end of the bypass on Hwy 59.
According to an accident report, Bobby Joe Farrar, 74, of Cameron, Oklahoma was driving the wrong way in the northbound lane when he collided with a pickup truck hauling an unloaded gooseneck trailer driven by Grant Hill Jr., 57, of Plumerville, Arkansas.
Both vehicles were driving on the inside lanes, Hill Jr. swerved to try to avoid Farrar, but ended up colliding head-on.
Farrar was pronounced dead at the scene and Hill Jr. was taken to an area hospital with injuries.
