SPIRO, Okla. (KFSM) — LeFlore County deputies said a man was shot in the leg early Friday (Sept. 13) east of Spiro.

According to a press release, Brian Simpson, Christopher Barnes and Courtney Lewis stopped at the home of Angie Stroud on Racetrack Loop Rd. to retrieve toolboxes Barnes claimed belonged to him.

Barnes told police he stepped out of the truck he was driving to talk to Stroud while Simpson and Lewis stayed in the vehicle.

The press release states that Barnes and Stroud began to argue and Barnes broke the glass on the front storm door of Stroud’s home.

Stroud closed the door and Barnes left the porch and attempted to slash the tire of Stroud’s vehicle with a screwdriver, the press release states.

Simpson yelled at Barnes to stop and as he was getting back into the vehicle, Stroud walked out of her home with a rifle and began shooting at the truck.

One round came through the front windshield and as Simpson attempted to shield his torso from the bullets, he was struck in the shin.

Stroud was arrested at her home. On the scene, police found that seven rounds struck Barnes’ truck as they fled.

Police found methamphetamine, marijuana and a marijuana plant in Stroud’s home.

Stroud was taken to the LeFlore County Detention Center and booked on three counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine. She is being held on a $365,000 bond.

Simpson was taken to Mercy hospital in Fort Smith where he was treated and released.
