Deaf Leopards Meet Def Leppard

LITTLE ROCK (KFSM) — The legendary rock band Def Leppard will take a few minutes out of their touring schedule on Wednesday (May 11) to meet with some other deaf leopards.

The British rock group will meet with a group of students from the Arkansas School for the Deaf, whose mascot just so happens to be the leopards.

Two months ago, Cary Tyson organized a Change.org petition calling for the band to take a picture in front of the Arkansas School for the Deaf Leopard scoreboard when they traveled to performance in Little Rock. The petition amassed more than 1,400 signatures.

On Monday (May 9), Tyson updated the page saying that the band agreed to take a photo with the students. Unfortunately, their schedule wouldn’t allow them to swing by the school.

While the students can’t bring the iconic Deaf Leopard scoreboard to the concert, they are bringing a large replica of the scoreboard.

Def Leppard will be playing at Little Rock’s Verizon Arena at 7 p.m. Wednesday night.
