Miss University of Arkansas plans to fight a drunk driving charge.
The attorney representing 21-year-old Sarah Gafvert says she will not give up her crown.
Gafvert was pulled over a month before being crowned in Fayetteville. Police released dash cam video of her Sept. 26 arrest.
The woman's blood alcohol level registered .13 percent, according to police. The legal limit is .08. Her lawyer believes Gafvert’s blood alcohol and field sobriety tests might have been affected by her being a newly diagnosed diabetic.
Gafvert's first court date is scheduled for Monday. Her lawyer has entered a not guilty plea.
