Teams from across the United States are in Rogers this weekend as the 47th Annual Daisy National BB Gun Championship Match begins.

Most of the teams got in town Sunday and met in the gun range, for several practice rounds.

"These young people are putting the BB in the bullseye almost every shot. They're that good," said Joe Murphin, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Daisy BB Guns.

Each team is made up of seven members, between the ages of 8 and 15. The teams will compete at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers until winners are announced Tuesday night.

"There's so much more there in the way of electronics and things to divert your attention away from going outside and having fun. But the truth of the matter is if you have a BB gun at an event and you have a range set up, that's where the kids will go. They love to shoot," said Murphin.

Robert Cowan, former Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Daisy BB Guns, said that he remembers a time when every young boy used to have a Daisy BB Gun.

"Well, most of the fathers today had BB guns and I don't know whether business can ever come back the way it was," said Cowan, who is part of the founding family of Daisy.
