After two months in county lockup, a professional clown charged with child pornogrpahy possession is free on bail.
Officials confirmed Saturday that Thomas Harold Morgan, also known as “Sondance the Clown,” had been released from the Sebastian County Detention Center.
Last month, Morgan, 47, pleaded not guilty to four counts of possessing material depicting sexually explicit conduct with a child.
Police arrested Morgan back in June on charges of distributing, possessing, or viewing child porn. That was after Fort Smith Police Department’s computer forensic team did an online investigation and was able to detect someone in the 500 block of S. 20th was downloading the images through a well-known, internet file-sharing network, according to police.
After investigators obtained a search warrant for Morgan’s home, police say several items of digital media were seized. Police do not believe Morgan was uploading any images, and say so far they have not had any victims come forward with allegations about Morgan.
A judge ordered that Morgan wear an ankle bracelet and be electronically monitored while out on bail, according to Sebastian County Detention Center. Bond was set at $100,000.
