A 12-year-old girl called 911 after her father rolled a pickup truck off of an embankment north of Horsehead Lake in Johnson County Friday. Now the father is facing multiple charges.
Charles Wayne Munger, 40, of Ozark, is charged with driving while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license, no proof of insurance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of an instrument of a crime, endangering the welfare of a minor and careless/prohibited driving.
The call came in around 10:30 p.m., according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. The girl told dispatchers she and her father were driving up a road near the lake and the truck rolled over a hill, causing her father to be hurt.
After about 10 minutes of searching, deputies found the girl standing on a Forest Service road near an area known as Grassy Point. Munger was sitting on the side of the road with injuries to his head and shoulder, according to the sheriff.
Munger’s truck, a 1-ton flatbed, was approximately 30’ off of a steep embankment and on its top, the sheriff says.
The girl suffered a small scratch to her back which did not require treatment. Munger was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.
