BENTONVILLE (KFSM) — A suspect in a Bentonville bank robbery returned to Arkansas on Wednesday (Dec. 2) after officers extradited him from California, where he fled.

Kenneth Wayne Fisher, 39, of Colorado, is facing charges of felony robbery and theft of property, according to a Bentonville Police Department press release.

A warrant was issued for Kenneth Wayne Fisher, Jr. in October after a robbery of First Security Bank on Aug. 28, according to police. Fisher was named as a suspect after an extensive investigation and it is believed he was passing through Northwest Arkansas when he robbed the bank, police said.

Officers with the Fountain Valley Police Department in California arrested Fisher after a pursuit that ended when Fisher’s vehicle ran out of gas, according to police. He is currently being held at the Orange County Jail in Santa Ana awaiting extradition, police said.

He was travelling with an endangered juvenile from Colorado, according to the release.

Fisher is in the Benton County jail awaiting a formal bond hearing.
