Benton County’s administrator for public services resigned Tuesday, saying he wants to move on to other things, a county official told 5NEWS.

Terry Nalley notified his staff early Tuesday afternoon of his resignation, saying it had nothing to do with anything wrong with the county. He just wanted to move on, an official said.

County administrators will meet Wednesday to discuss Nalley’s resignation and what to do next with the position. In the meantime, Benton County director of operations Jeff Clark will be the point-person for the position, the official said.

Nalley has been administrator for public services since October. The previous administrator in that position, Scott Stober, resigned last year amid a scandal involving the personal misuse of county money.

Stober and two other county officials were arrested last summer on suspicion of theft of property. Police said Stober spent county money on lumber and pickup truck tires for personal use.

They are awaiting trial in Benton County.
