LOWELL, Ark. (KFSM) — The suspect at the center of a standoff with deputies in Lowell has been captured, according to Sgt. Shannon Jenkins with the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Around 2 p.m. on Tuesday (Mar. 19), deputies attempted to serve a warrant for a felony warrant out of Washington County to 40-year-old Jesse Groulx at a home on Ervin McGarrah Rd in Lowell. Jenkins says Groulx refused to come out and barricaded himself inside a travel trailer.

Negotiators arrived on the scene and began talking with Groulx.

After several hours of negotiating, the Benton County SWAT team deployed a flashbang and gas rounds at the travel trailer. Moments later, Groulx willingly surrendered himself with no further incident.

About a mile stretch of Ervin McGarrah Road was shut down due to the incident.

Groulx will be booked into the Benton County Jail on charges of obstruction of governmental operations and disorderly conduct before being released to Washington County on his felony warrant.
