POPE COUNTY (KFSM) – A total of 33 dogs were found at a residence in Pottsville on Jan. 17, according to a fundraiser post on PetCaring.Com.
The owners of the property took in stray dogs, and things got “out of hand,” the post states.
Of the 33 dogs, 19 are puppies and 14 are adults. The owners of the property said they are willing to surrender all of the dogs, according to the post.
The post states that all of the animals need to be spayed/neutered, and some of the puppies were “sick and very malnourished.” The sick puppies will need attention from a veterinarian, and every one of the dogs is in need of essential shots.
The puppies were kept in a five foot by five foot pen that was filled with mud and dog poop, according to the Facebook page Pottsville Disaster.
As of Jan. 19 at 2:30 p.m., a total of $899 was raised to give the animals care.
