GORE,OK(KFSM) - People in Gore, Oklahoma are preparing for summer as the city gets to work on a new $100,000 splash pad.

This is after, the Cherokee Nation came forward with a $25,000 grant a few months back hoping to get something new and fun for the kids.

Gore then matched that grant and decided to put in a splash pad. Town administrator Horace Lindley said that's when they got to work on designing it. "We got into the project and we could've done it for that amount," said Lindley. " But the town of Gore decided if we're going to do something, we're going do it right."

If all goes as planned, the splash pad should open at Ray Fine Memorial Park this June.
