By Wednesday we will see afternoon highs well above average with 70’s and 80’s area-wide. Temperatures on Wednesday in the River Valley will be near record highs.
The jet stream pattern will start to break down on Thursday and into the weekend as a cold front pushes in from the north. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible Thursday afternoon through early Saturday morning. This front will lift to the north on Friday into Saturday as a warm front as another system starts to organize to the west.
We typically see a peak in severe weather as we get into the month of May and longer range models are starting to show the possibility of a more active and stormy pattern by the end of the first week in May into the second week.
