AUSTIN, Texas — Central Texas transformed into a winter wonderland Sunday – and because of that, some local school districts have decided to delay the start of the school day Monday.
Here's a list of the school districts that have either announced a late start or have said they are monitoring the weather situation:
Austin ISD said it would go 100% virtual learning on Jan. 11. Here is a statement from the district:
To ensure the safety of all our students and staff, all Austin ISD classes will be 100 percent remote, Monday, Jan. 11.
No students will report to campus and buses will not run to transport students. WiFi service will be offered on a one-hour delay from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. See our WiFi bus map for service locations.

Austin International School
Austin International School is canceled for Jan. 11, school officials said.
Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts
The Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts will work virtually on Monday, Jan. 11, due to winter weather and inclement conditions. School will resume in-person Tuesday, Jan. 12.
Bastrop ISD will operate on a two-hour delayed start for Monday. Buses will run two hours later than normal. The district is continuing to monitor the weather throughout the evening and will update as necessary.
Burnet ISD will be canceled on Jan. 11. Here is a statement from the district:
All Burnet CISD schools and offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, due to inclement weather and out of an abundance of caution. Additionally, all BCISD activities are cancelled tomorrow.
Blanco ISD will delay the start of school until 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 11.
Del Valle ISD
Del Valle ISD will be canceled on Jan. 11. Here is a statement from the district:
Due to inclement weather, all DVISD schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Jan. 11, 2021. This closure includes both on-campus and remote learning, as well as all after school activities.
Dime Box ISD
Dime Box School will have a one-hour delayed start for Tuesday, Jan. 12. Bus routes and school opening all delayed one hour.
Dripping Springs ISD
Dripping Springs ISD schools will operate on a two-hour delay Monday, Jan. 11. Schools’ starting times and bus pick-up times will be two hours later than on a normal day. District leaders will continue to monitor weather conditions overnight.
Eanes ISD has canceled classes for Jan. 11.
Elgin ISD has canceled classes for Jan. 11.
Flatonia ISD sent this statement announcing a two-hour delay:
Flatonia ISD will have a 2-hour delayed start on Monday, Jan. 11.
First Baptist Christian School – Marble Falls
First Baptist Christian School in Marble Falls will have a two-hour delay and open at 9:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 11.
Classes in Georgetown ISD will be canceled for Monday, Jan. 11.
Harmony Public Schools Austin
The Harmony Public Schools Austin issued the following statement:
Due to ongoing inclement weather conditions, Harmony Public Schools Austin will cancel both in-person and virtual learning for Monday, Jan. 11, 2021. We will resume a regular schedule on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021.
Harper ISD will have a two-hour delayed start Monday. Buses will run two hours late as well.
Hays CISD sent this statement announcing school was canceled on Jan. 11:
Due to the potential for ice and snow remaining on the roads overnight, Hays CISD schools are canceled and offices are closed for Monday, Jan. 11, 2021. Additionally, with area hospital space severely impacted because of the pandemic, we do not want to risk having additional drivers on roads in the morning when road conditions in parts of our area could be dangerous.
Hutto ISD has canceled classes for Jan. 11.
International School of Texas
International School of Texas will be canceled on Jan. 11, according to school officials.
Jarrell ISD issued this statement cancelling classes:
Out of an abundance of caution, due to the wintery weather, the decision was made to keep our students and staff home on Monday, Jan. 11. Both in-person and virtual learning for all students is canceled.
Johnson City ISD
Johnson City ISD canceled classes for Jan. 11.
Jubilee-Wells Branch School
Jubilee-Wells Branch School has canceled it's classes on Jan. 11. Here is a statement:
Due to current weather conditions, classes are canceled Monday, Jan. 11. For the safety of our families and faculty, Jubilee-Wells Branch will be closed. Classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
Lago Vista ISD
Lago Vista ISD sent this statement canceling classes on Jan. 11:
After consulting with local authorities, Lago Vista ISD has canceled classes for all students (in person and remote) on Monday, Jan. 11. Campuses and offices will be closed. As the weather clears and conditions improve, some extracurricular programs may resume their schedules for the afternoon. This day will not be made up.
Lake Travis ISD
Lake Travis ISD has canceled classes on Jan. 11.
Leander ISD has canceled classes on Jan. 11.
Liberty Hill ISD
Due to weather conditions, LHISD will close schools, Monday, Jan. 11.
Lockhart ISD will be on a two-hour delay. Here is the statement from the district:
Lockhart ISD is on a two-hour delayed start Monday, Jan. 11, due to road conditions caused by inclement weather. This delay impacts both on-campus and distance learning. All staff will report to work 2 hours later than the usual report time. Classes begin two hours later than the usual start time. For example, if your child attends elementary school, rather than starting at 7:20 a.m., classes start at 9:20 a.m. If your student rides the bus, pick-up times will be two hours later than the usual pick up time. For example, if your child normally gets picked up by the bus at 6:45 a.m., your child will now get picked up at 8:45 a.m. Parents can also click here to access the Bus Info page to track bus status as operations later this morning.
Luling ISD will be on a two-hour delay, according to school officials. Schools will start at 10 a.m.
Manor ISD has canceled classes for Jan. 11.
Marble Falls ISD
Marble Falls ISD will delay normal operation by two hours Monday, Jan. 11. All bus routes, school start times, and other schedules will occur two hours later than normally scheduled. All before-school activities and practices are cancelled and there will be no breakfast served through MFISD cafeterias.
Pflugerville ISD will cancel classes on Jan. 11. The following message was sent to parents on Jan. 10:
Good afternoon PfISD Staff and Families,
After consulting with local weather officials and due to possible hazardous road conditions affecting a portion of the district, Pflugerville ISD will be closed tomorrow, Jan. 11. With freezing temperatures expected during the morning commute, we do not want to put cars or buses on the road in these conditions. Additionally, all PfISD activities are cancelled tomorrow.
We do not anticipate any changes to the school day on Tuesday, but we will inform staff and parents if there are any changes.

Round Rock ISD
Round Rock ISD has canceled classes for Jan. 11.
Smithville ISD will operate on a two-hour delayed start for Monday.
Stepping Stone School
All Stepping Stone School campuses will be opening at 9 a.m. Monday.
Taylor ISD will be closed on Monday, Jan. 11, due to inclement weather.
Wimberley ISD announced it would be on a two-hour delay on Jan. 11. Here is a statement from the district:
After monitoring this weekend's weather conditions as well as the forecasted conditions overnight and into Monday morning, Wimberley ISD has announced a two-hour delay to the start of school on Monday, Jan. 11.
The delay is out of an abundance of caution concerning the conditions of our area roadways and the potential for freezing conditions early Monday morning. WISD bus routes will run as usual, but two hours later than normal. The delay will mean WISD schools will begin two hours later than normal (approximately 9:55 a.m. - 10 a.m. start time).
