CONWAY, Ark. — A competitive cheerleader with Cheer Force Arkansas was selected by Spirit of America to cheer at the 96th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 24th, 2022 in New York City.
Conway native Carissa Mitchell will perform at Herald Square in front of the famous Macy's Department Store with around 450 other cheerleaders from across the county.
The cheerleaders arrived in New York on Saturday and have spent countless hours rehearsing their choreography since then.
In between rehearsals, Carissa has also had the opportunity to have a little fun— including an opportunity to do the Statue of Liberty Harbor cruise, visit the 911 Memorial, attend MJ the musical, attend Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, and even Wicked the musical.
“I am excited for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and excited to represent Arkansas and make my family, friends, and coaches proud,” Carissa said.
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will be live on NBC on November 24th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon EST.
