FAYETTEVILLE, Ark-- The Razorbacks three game winning streak has been good news for Hog football fans but it could mean bad news if quarterback Ryan Mallett's stock continues to rise with NFL scouts.

Mallett is in his first playing season at Arkansas but as a redshirt sophomore he will be draft eligible at the end of the 2009 campaign. As his passing numbers continue to improve the NFL is starting to notice.

CBS Sportsline currently has Mallett listed as the top quarterback in the 2012 NFL draft. But what if he decided to come out two years early? Has he talked about this with Arkansas coaches?

"No, we haven't talked about it at all," offensive coordinator Paul Petrino said after Tuesday's practice. "He needs to be here another year for sure to make sure he continues to grow and improve. You've seen so much improvement here lately. He wants to make sure he keeps growing and improving and then that'll be something we can talk about at this time next year."

Petrino also answered questions about Saturday's opponent. Mississippi State can become bowl eligible in it's first year under head coach Dan Mullen. The Bulldogs would need to close their regular season with wins against Arkansas and Ole Miss.

Petrino said Mallett and his offensive teammates will need plenty of concentration in practice this week to be ready for the Bulldogs.

"They are very multiple', Petrino said of MSU's defense. "They do a lot of unorthodox things in the secondary as far as coverage. We have to make sure we know what we are doing and take care of our assignments and play fast. It is a little bit different scheme than you are used to seeing."

So how did Tuesday's workout go? Well, the Hogs were chased indoors by a combination of cold and damp weather but did fine according to Petrino:

"We had a good practice tonight. I thought the guys had good energy and were flying around. We need to have two better ones the next two days and get ready to go win a big game in Little Rock."
