A River Valley pastor was arrested after police say he tried to solicit sex from an undercover officer at Fort Smith Park.
Police arrested Charles King for exposing himself and asking an undercover officer for sex. King is a pastor at Heritage United Methodist in Van Buren. King was arrested Tuesday during an undercover sting by the Fort Smith Police Department. He faces Loitering charges.
Omar Barahona of Van Buren was also arrested for Loitering at the park. An undercover officer found Barahona touching himself in the bathroom. Police he then propositioned the officer.
During the sting, officers also made contact with Howard Gilbert of Muldrow. According to police reports, Gilbert was seen driving around Fort Smith Park, flashing his break lights near every parked car that he passed. Upon flashing his lights at an undercover detective, the detective drove to a bathroom, parked and went inside. Gilbert came into the bathroom and solicited the officer for sex.
Police also arrested Jimmie C. Lamproe, Jr., of Rudy for Loitering after he, too, asked an undercover office for sex.
