A man was arrested after protested from a tree in Fayetteville Monday afternoon.

Abel Tomlinson climbed the tree on the Washington County Courthouse lawn and screamed profanities, according to witnesses. Traffic on College Avenue was blocked for 20-30 minutes after Tomlinson's friend reportedly parked a vehicle in the middle of the road.

Tomlinson, who is facing drug charges, says the grounds for his protest are his right to drugs because of his religion.

He was arrested and taken to jail.
