With that in mind the Army Corps of Engineers reminds boaters that a small craft advisory is still in effect for the Arkansas River in Arkansas. Flows on the river are well above safe levels for recreational boats.
Advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second. Flows at Trimble Lock and Dam in Barling have been twice that amount this week.
All boaters are urged to stay off the river until flows are back to safe levels.
