Man Pleads Not Guilty in Van Buren Child's Death

A Pocola, Okla. man has pleaded not guilty in Arkansas to first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend's daughter in Van Buren.

The Crawford County Public Defender's Office entered the plea on behalf of 26 year old Devin Alex Pendleton. He was arrested on Oct. 10th, following 16 month old's death. Authorities say the girl died at Arkansas Children's Hospital on Oct. 6th.

Court documents say Pendleton admitted to police that he shook the child and threw her against a concrete floor a couple days before the at the home of the girl's mother, Sara Shores.
