Wright's Fallingwater is Topic of Free Lecture
Architect Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater will be the topic of an upcoming free lecture sponsored by Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville.

Lynda Waggoner, who is regarded as one of the nation's foremost authorities on Fallingwater, will present "Fallingwater: The Story of an American Icon," from 2-4 p.m. Sun., Nov. 15 in the Old High Middle School Auditorium located at 406 NW 2nd St.

Waggoner's lecture is the second in Crystal Bridges' "Speaking ofÂ…" series, which brings experts in art and design to the area.

"I will discuss Wright's role in creating a uniquely American style of architecture, one that is appropriate for American democracy, and how Fallingwater fits into that picture," Waggoner said.

Wright's residential masterwork poised above a waterfall in Mill Run, Pa. His embrace of nature resulted in a home that was recognized as the "best all-time work of American architecture" by the American Institute of Architects in 1991.

The program is free and best for adults and teens. Space is limited, so arrive early. Copies of Waggoner's book Fallingwater: Frank Lloyd Wright's Romance with Nature, will be for sale by Borders at the reception and book signing following the lecture.
