Beebe Expands Arkansas Works Program
Gov. Mike Beebe is announcing an expansion of the Arkansas Works program that looks to coordinate education, training and economic development in the state.

The expansion includes hiring 43 full-time college and career coaches in 21 of the state's most economically depressed counties. The coaches work for community colleges and will work with high schools and guidance counselors. They will advise and prepare students for career exploration, college planning and enrollment.

Beebe says recent interviews with high school students across the state found many want to attend college - but fewer than 25 percent of these students knew how to get there.
