Gov. Beebe: Arkansas Soldiers Feel 'Deep Loss' After Shooting
President Barack Obama has ordered U.S. flags at federal offices will be lowered to half-staff until next Tuesday in honor of those killed and wounded during a massive shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, yesterday.

Earlier this morning, Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe ordered U.S. flags and Arkansas flags across the state to be flown at half-staff until sunset, but now he has extended his order to coincide with President Obama's.

"There is still much we don't know about this terrible tragedy, but Arkansans join our fellow Americans who are grief-stricken by this senseless loss of life," Gov. Beebe said. "Arkansas military personnel have a long history with Fort Hood, and feel an especially deep loss among their family in uniform."

The Arkansas National Guard, which also lowered its flags, held a moment of silence at 1:34 p.m. today.
